"Alexander Miles works creatively at the junction point of fine cabinetmaking and contemporary design. He shares with Gordon Russell, one of the pioneers of twentieth century British furniture, a background in antiques which has given him an innate understanding of quality, craftsmanship and appropriate use of materials.

Whereas Russell was based in the Cotswolds, Alexander Miles has his workshops on the English/Welsh borders, where skilled makers interpret his fluent and functional designs.

There is a well-mannered elegance about much of his work, which harks back to the Arts and Crafts movement, but his forms and ideas also speak about today.

No doubt he is creating tomorrow's antiques."
